Hi, I’m Rachel!

I’m a wife, a mom, and a woman who decided I didn’t want to spend my whole life chasing a version of success that didn’t actually feel like the life I wanted.

So we did something a little different.

My husband and I sold our house, got out of debt, and brought our family of five onto a little piece of raw Oklahoma land. We moved into a 5th wheel and started figuring things out as we went.

And then, somewhere along the way, we had another baby.

So now we’re a family of six living in the same little 5th wheel we started this adventure in.

It isn’t always pretty. Sometimes it’s downright ridiculous.

There are chickens, muddy shoes, projects that take three times longer than they should, kids everywhere, and plenty of moments where I wonder what in the world we were thinking.

But there’s also coffee in the morning, fresh eggs, learning how to care for animals, working with our hands, watching our kids play outside, and building something that actually feels like ours.

I’m not here because I have homesteading all figured out. I don’t.

I’m learning as I go.

This little corner of the internet is where I share what we’re learning about homesteading, living below our means, raising a family, making do with what we have, and building a life that feels a little more intentional and a little less complicated.

We’re still very much in the middle of the story.

So if you’re figuring it out too, come along.

“Through wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.” (Proverbs 24:3-4)

Come along means…

  • a hand-operated winch which is used to move, lift, or pull heavy loads.
  • a southern slang term for an RV.
  • to make progress.
  • an invitation to join.
